About  David R Crane Inc:

I arrived from Muncie, Indiana in 1982 to live in Metairie, Louisiana and continued my trade in all types of custom carpentry. Two years later after landing in Covington, I geared my business solely toward residential room additions, averaging four or five projects  per year. I did my own concrete slabs & walks for each project and that gave me a lot of basic concrete experience.

While doing work for a local decorator who owns & operates Monica Sherman Designs, I learned of the growing interest in concrete countertops. After some hesitation & deliberation, I started my research of custom concrete products. An Internet search brought me to the Decorative Concrete Institute (DCI) located in Douglasville Georgia.

The founder & CEO of DCI, Bob Harris, is a high-energy enthusiastic concrete technician to say the least. After attending a two-day “hands on” workshop at his complex in Georgia, I returned home to Louisiana with a head full of ideas & a burning desire to pour some concrete!

Well, that’s what I’m doing & with the generous support of our local building material supplier, Poole Lumber Co., I helped them remodel the kitchen & bath display area in their showroom. The display now features 70 sq feet of concrete counters & integrated concrete sinks, and Pooles showroom is an excellent place to see the finished products. What a blessing it has been & a pleasure to work with true professionals.

The concrete business has now replaced the renovation business, and I feel the current trend towards concrete products has finally arrived into this area & has become my fulltime business.

Thank you to all my former customers for your personal support & never ending referrals. I cannot do it without you. Have a great new year…I know I will!
